Ok so its not the best coffee (kona or jamaican blue mountain) but it is seriously strong and decent without too much bite or acidity afterwards. Nice flavor, not my top go to brand but reasonably priced go to when pennies are pinched.

Seattle's Best Level 5 (or the coffee previously known as French Roast) passes all the criteria for a very good, robust cup of coffee. It has a dark flavor that does not taste quite as burnt or toasted as some French Roasts, including its Starbuck's cousin, and it mixes well with Level 4 or 3 to make a less intense but still hearty brew for early mornings when the jolt is perhaps a bit more important than the lingering flavor. But on a rainy morning when time meanders and there is no where one has to be, this is a fine brew to accompany time spent reading a novel, dabbling in poetry, or constructing a diatribe against the perceived ills of modern society.The new packaging for this line of coffees (well, it is not that new now) however, remains off-putting and garish and the best to be said is that ii is hard to miss in the coffee-tea aisles. Still, despite all the packaging tricks, the one visual element that guides my purchases is the cost. Right now I could go to my local grocery and buy a bags of Level 5 and get enough change for a quart of half and half for the price listed here. It's good coffee but not a a deal at these boutique prices.
