LOVE your Keurig, but HATE those plastic cups? Me, too. I actually cut off the foil tops, dig out the coffee grounds, mulch the grounds and recycle cups and foil. Yes, it is a Royal Pain. So I was delighted to hear that Brioni, a company in my own home state, was making completely compostable pods, to pop into a reusable, recyclable cup, for use in my beloved machine. I ordered the starter box, which comes with two of the cups and several pods packed individually in plastic-y foil (ugh) pouches. The system is easy to use. Pinch the little pod into a ball, pop it in the cup, close the lid and pop it into the machine. The dark Sicillian Roast was a disappointment. I like my coffee deeply flavored, and this was not at all. The "coffee" pouring into my cup was streaming clear after the cup was only 1/4 full. I tried making a smaller cup the next time. Still not strong enough. I ended up having to add instant coffee to my cup. And, what do I do with the foil pouches the pods come in? re those recyclable? I don't know. I still like the idea. It was easy. Improve the coffee and use real foil for the pouch so I can recycle it, Brioni!
