I buy San Francisco Bay Coffee from Costco and thought I would try the decaf, because sometimes I want a cup in the afternoon, it is ok not as good as the cafinated though

This is a sharp tasting coffee with a wine-ish undertone. It's a medium-dark roast - just a little past the medium point, but short of the point where there would be visible oil on the bean. The label does not indicate the bean origin, but from the taste I'll bet the blend has a lot of Guatemalan beans.It came out fairly well as a pour over. The sharp tones were not as pronounced, and it had a reasonably good body. There was some lingering astringent aftertaste. I was not pleased with it when brewed in an Aeropress or moka pot - the sharpness was much too acute, bordering on sour, and the aftertaste lingered much too long.Even though I got this on the Amazon Warehouse for a discounted price, I won't purchase it again even at the same low price. I drink my coffee black, and this would certainly benefit from some milk and/or sugar to blunt the sharpness. I blended some with a dark roast Sumatra, and the two worked pretty well together. All on its own, however, it's not terribly appealing to me.
