First of all, this is not the Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee you think it is. Second - the package of fake coffee from who knows where is full of contradictions. It tells a story of Caribbean mountains and breeze, and also of Hawaiian kings. So it's like Hawaii was in Caribbean.The coffee tastes ok, but the fact that they charge $20 for this is a rip-off + conscious false advertising says it all about the vendor. Stay away.

We love this coffee. We normally buy it from Marshall's or TJ Maxx about the same price. I don't care what the packaging says about where it is from because i can't drink the words. All i know is i like the product. It has a very consistent flavor, smooth. Our friends that we share a cup always ask "where did you get that coffee".

As another reviewer rightly says, determining the origin of this coffee is impossible from the packaging. One side talks about an ancient Hawaiian King and volcano-infused soil on the sides of mountains, while the other talks about Caribbean breezes and tradewinds. I am not a map maker or geography specialist by trade, but I am pretty sure Hawaii isn't one of the islands of the Antilles. But if you can get over the fact that this coffee is -- and I am guessing here -- likely grown in the Pacific where Kona Plantation is located while it carries a Jamaican-inspired profile or roast, I'd say it's a pretty decent coffee. I guess both Jamaica and Hawaii have volcanoes in their histories and I agree both have mountains and tropical climates... anyway, moving on...It is 100 percent Arabica. It's a medium bodied coffee, pretty well balanced with low to moderate overall acidity and the noticeable presence of oil in the whole beans of this brew. It's earthy, smooth and unoffensive and really plays well out of my French press. Beans are pretty consistent in size, quality and roast throughout the bags I've examined.Would I pay the asking price for this stuff with my aforementioned doubts about its origin? No. And I don't buy the packaging that this stuff is "roasted in small batches" given how much of it is out there on the market. For goodness sakes, I live in Tennessee, not New York or a major market and my local TJ Maxx and Marshall's are selling the stuff for $4 per 1 lb. bag with an expiration date that's one year away (which is telling... coffee is best nearest to its roasting date and their "best by..." date is not likely to ensure freshness). And the brews I've made, while good, don't have that "freshly roasted" flavor that I get from the micro coffee roaster down the road. I have no idea when it was roasted, but if it's going to be good for another year when it already tastes a little aged, I'm a Jamaican monkey's uncle who resides in Hawaii.But for $4 per one pound bag (that's what I paid), it's a very, very good coffee. For twice that price, it's a good coffee. If you find it on sale, get it. It may not be the best you've ever had, but it's darn fine coffee. But for $20 per pound? Get real Blue Mountain Coffee from Jamaica. King Kamchamcha was not from Jamaica. Neither is this coffee.
